Celery is popular for its is a crunchy and low calorie vegetable. It is often called nature’s toothbrush and is related to parsley family.  Seeds of celery are smaller than you can imagine. Sometimes the seedsthey are also considered a medicinal herb.

Celery is good to eat as it contains vitamin C and folate, minerals and dietary fiber. Another interesting fact is that when munching celery, it helps clean our mouth and teeth. When planning your next trip to your local green grocer, look for celery that is crisp and snaps easily when broken. It should be firm and compact. Leaves should be bright green in color.

Celery is grown in Australia from September to February and keeps for about a week in your refrigerator.
