Aside from its tasty flavor, broccoli is armed with health benefits that our body needs. It also helps lower cholesterol, has a detoxifying ingredient and is a good source of vitamin D.

Brocoli should not be over cooked as it does lose a lot of its nutritional value.

Broccoli is best in the cool or winter months from May to September and grows in all cool parts of Australia. When shopping for a broccoli, get the ones that are fresh with compact clusters. Stalks and stem should be green and firm.

Most children can be encouraged to eat Broccoli if it is called “little trees”and turned into a fun experience.
