Snow peas are grown in temperate regions of Australia and are available in the cooler season from April to September. Snow peas are a legume and are a variety of pea that is eaten whole while still not ripe. They are also valued for their edible shoots which are harvested and used as Asian greens.
Snow peas can be cooked or eaten raw especially in salads. They are high in Vitamin C, fibre and protein.
Snow peas should be bright, firm and crisp when fresh. To store, snow peas keep them in a plastic bag for up to four days on fridge.
