Rocket leaves are widely known as Aragula and Salad Rocket and can be eaten raw. They are native to the Mediterranean area and have a lovely hazelnut flavour when eaten young but as they get older they become more tart and bitter. They are used not only in salads but in pizza, pasta, and risottos.
They contain nutrients such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A, B and C, it also contains antioxidants. They also low in callories.
Eat them fresh or store in a plastic bag no longer than 3 days.
