Pears are easily recognized by their tear drop shape. Pears are very good to eat raw as even the skin of a pear is a good source of antioxidant, and have anti-inflammatory properties. Pears are in season from January to June but they are available for most of the year. When looking for quality, look for firm ones. Avoid any with soft spots.
