Cauliflower is an annual vegetable known for its flowery shape and used in many meals. Cauliflower also belongs to the cabbage family together with broccoli and Brussels sprouts. The cauliflower is a  favorite vegetable which was used in the Roman times. Today cauliflower is seen on most Australian tables at some time of the year.  Its uses are many. It can be used in stir fries, soups and can be just boiled or done in a mornay.

Cauliflower is rich  vitamins A and C, calcium, fibre, and folates. They also contains antioxidant,  and have anti-inflammatory benefits. When cooking, be sure not to overcook cauliflower.

For a best buying tip, cauliflower with the whitest heads are preferred. They need to be kept in your crisper.
