Tucked away in Glenbrook’s quaint shopping village, The Glenbrook Greengrocer is one of the most exciting purveyors of fresh produce the Lower Blue Mountains has to offer.

Jointly run by Luke Kohler and Karl Rogge, the pair have over 40 years experience between them working in the fresh produce industry and have a clear idea what locals want when it comes to fruit and veg.

“When we took over the shop, we wanted the quality of our produce to speak for itself.” Said Karl

Sourcing the best fruit & vegetables direct from Sydney Markets six days a week, it’s evident that Glenbrook Greengrocer are obsessed with freshness and so are their customers:

“One of the ways we maintain this level of quality is by keeping everything we stock as fresh as possible.”

“That can also mean introducing new product lines, offering customers something that’s unique or different.”

Despite it’s small size, Glenbrook Greengrocer has everything you’d need from a local fruit shop and more. Locals can stop in for a fresh juice, smoothie or healthy lunch option any day of the week. This includes a delicious range of fresh salads prepared daily, as well as raw organic treats which are suitable for the gluten and dairy-intolerant.

With its rustic yet contemporary charm, the business has become somewhat of a Glenbrook favourite.

“We try to make the space a clean, friendly and enjoyable one for our customers. The girls [that work here] are brilliant at what they do and [our customers] appreciate the extra effort they go to.”

“We’re also heavily involved in the local community. We sponsor our local club footy team [Lower Mountains Junior Rugby League Club] and a local school [Lapstone Public School], donating to their fireworks display this year.”

Glenbrook Greengrocer places great value on their commitment to the environment through their bagging and packaging, using brown paper bags as opposed to plastic and stocking biodegradable Biopak containers & cups. This also follows through in their pledge to minimise food wastage, using over-ripe and bruised produce to make their juices & fresh salads daily.
